Post-observation information reviewers

What happens immediately after the review?

It is recommended that you and reviewee meet as soon as possible after the observation to discuss feedback. Again this could potentially be done over a cup of coffee.

You will then provide the reviewee with written feedback targeting the agreed areas within two weeks of the observation.

Reflection and future goal setting?

What were the benefits for you the reviewer?

As a result of the Peer observation experience you may wish to consider the following questions:

  1. What useful ideas have I taken away from observing my colleague?
  2. What have I learnt about my approach to teaching and learning?
  3. Are there new ideas that I am interested in implementing?
  4. What are my plans for future peer observations and other professional development?
  5. Would I like to organise a peer review for my teaching either as a reciprocal process from the reviewee or another peer.
  6. Would you like an even broader evaluation of your teaching? 360 Feedback? If so, a member of the SSLT can conduct a focus group session with your students – providing you with timely de-identified feedback. For further information email peerreviewfs@csu.edu.au

An action plan template may assist this process. See Peer Reviewee Reflection Sheet (doc)
