Student Information

 Q Fever

The School of Agricultural and Wine Sciences requires all internal students enrolled on our NSW campuses in the Bachelor of Agricultural Science and Bachelor of Agricultural Business Management to be vaccinated against Q Fever.

For information regarding Q Fever please refer to http://www.qfever.org/.

A vaccination clinic will be held on Wagga campus in March for our first year internal students.  Following vaccination your details will be placed on the Australian Q Fever register.  Further details will be available during O Week.

For students commencing in the Bachelor of Agricultural Business Management at C Y O'Connor Institute's Muresk campus in Western Australia, Q fever vaccinations are not compulsory unless you work or have worked in high risk occupations eg abattoir workers, veterinary researchers, dairy farmers etc. Students in these categories should be immunised after being screened, using the skin sensitivity test first .For any field trips completed as part of the studies in animal science based subjects that form part of the degree, C Y O'Connor Institute will, prior to such field trips, supply all students with protective face masks to be worn on sites where a risk of infection is considered possible.
