Associate Professor Lyn Angel was appointed Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Science in January 2016 following two years as Associate Dean of the Faculty. Lyn was the Head of School of Biomedical Sciences from 2002 until 2013 following her role as a Senior Lecturer in Medical Sciences at Charles Sturt University from 1999, having extensive experience in developing and reviewing courses, teaching across the range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Lyn has been the recipient of both the Faculty and The Vice Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence.

Lyn studied Medical Science and spent over 15 years working in diagnostic pathology laboratories, three years in a research laboratory and joined academia as a chemistry tutor. Following completion of hers Masters of Applied Science (MLS), researching mutations in cystic fibrosis, she gained appointment as lecturer in medical science, moving to senior lecturer and in 2011 was  promoted to Associate Professor.

Lyn was a member of the Human Research Ethics Committee at CSU for several years and the Chair for 10 years, developing links with NMRC through this passion.

Lyn's academic career has seen her develop professional standing in areas of education, medical science, pharmacy and ethics, reflected in her publication output of over 50 (major/minor publications/ presentations) falling mainly in the categories of education, medical science, pharmacy, and ethics.

Lyn is currently a member of the CSU Academic Senate and a member of the University Council.
