Esther is a Medical Biochemist with extensive research experience in both veterinary and human medicine. Esther completed her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing in concurrence with completing a Bachelor’s in Medical Science with Honours in 2009. Esther worked for a biotechnology company in Sydney as a Research Scientist in the veterinary division investigating the therapeutic benefits of stem cells in inflammation, wound healing and tissue regeneration. Her work also involved conducting animal and human clinical trials.
Esther completed her PhD in 2019, investigating the therapeutic benefits of bioactive compounds from coloured rice in reducing obesity-related oxidative stress and inflammation. Her work involved the use of in-vitro and ex-vivo and in-vivo models of obesity. During her PhD, Esther worked as a sessional academic teaching Chemistry, Haematology, Physiology and Veterinary Technology. In 2020, Esther joined the School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences as a Lecturer in Veterinary Technology.
