Since completing her Bachelor of Nursing degree at the University of Western Sydney, Alison has worked in a diverse range of healthcare settings in Australia and internationally, including metropolitan and rural hospitals (primarily acute care and medical surgical), overseas aid work, as a clinical consultant with BUPA international, and as a practice nurse where her passion and insights into chronic disease management and primary health care developed.
Recently, Alison has taken on an innovative new role with LiveBetter, using telehealth monitoring systems to monitor, support and coordinate the care of rural people with chronic conditions. Alison continues to work part-time in this position while she lectures at CSU.
Alison worked as a sessional lecturer for CSU from 2012-2015 at Dubbo campus. In 2016 she accepted a permanent position with the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Indigenous Health at Bathurst campus.
